I met Lucas there around noon and quickly talked him into bagging Shephard peak. He gathered his hiking gear (hiking sandals?) and we were off on the infamous road to Graham.<br /><br />After about an hours worth of driving from our camping spot we topped a ridge and got to our first snow covered view of Shephard Peak and the Goat mountain complex. Shephard Peak's north ridge was covered in snow, and since my hiking partner had sandals on, we opted for to head up the nearby Tyee Mountain instead. It looked easier than it was and turned out to be about 3.2 miles with 1600 foot gain. There is a fairly good "on again - off again" trail to the top.
